Let them eat cake!

Ok, guys. This is serious. I have something very important to share with you. Get ready.

Cake. Do you like cake? Of course, you do. Earlier this year, one of my best friends came to my house and she brought the most incredible chocolate cake I had ever tasted. I demanded the recipe. Well, since that introduction, I have probably made this cake at least once a month. (No self-control, people!)

Anyway, it's dang good. Like, crazy good. Like, slap your mama good. Like, send your husband to the store in the middle of the night because suddenly you have to make this cake and there's no stopping you good. Soooo good.

I told you this was serious business.

The little ladies and I have been attending a weekly Story Time playgroup and last week we had a potluck. I brought this cake and everyone loved it. In fact, we met up today and people were still raving about it.

(Oh, did I mention there's a strawberry version? Because there is. I made one for today's Story Time playdate... and it went over just as well, if not better.)

Anyhow, because I love my friends almost as much as I love these cakes, I thought I should share the recipes. (Warning: You will probably love this cake and want to eat it all the time. ALL. THE. TIME.)

Too Much Chocolate Cake:
4 eggs, beaten
1 cup oil
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup warm water
1 box Devil's Food cake mix
1 box instant chocolate pudding mix
 2 cups Chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix ingredients and fold in chocolate chips. Pour batter into well-greased bundt pan. (Grease that pan good. For real. Last time I made this, my cake got stuck. It was delicious... but definitely not pretty.) Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes. Cool. Remove from pan. Top with powdered sugar. Devour. Thank me.

Now, on to the strawberry goodness. I'm sure there are recipes out there for this one, but I just adapted the chocolate recipe to make this one. It's perfect. (In fact, I think I prefer this one to the chocolate cake... maybe that's because it's pretty and pink. And insanely tasty.)

Valerie's Version of Too Much Strawberry Cake:
4 eggs, beaten
1 cup oil
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup warm water
1 box Strawberry cake mix
1 box instant vanilla pudding mix (Is there instant strawberry pudding out there? I've yet to find it... but, no sweat. Vanilla does a great job in this cake.)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix ingredients. Pour batter into well-greased bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes. Cool. Remove from pan. Top with powdered sugar and strawberries if you're feeling snazzy. Devour. Give me a hug.

Oh, and whatever you do, don't look at the nutritional info. Yikes.
