Christmas 2012
Well, now that we are already a week into 2013 (The future!) I guess I should write about Christmas. Gah. Seems like ages ago. I hope I can remember it all... forgive me if I start to fill in any gaps with unbelievable stories.
(Sidenote: What is wrong with me? I am such a slacker when it comes to blogging lately. I wish I could say that keeping this thing up to date is one of my goals for 2013, but sadly, it really isn't. I am the worst.)
We spent Christmas Eve at home, just the four of us. I cooked a huge festive feast and didn't pick up my camera once. We went to church that evening and Lilly farted (Very loudly. Of course.) during service. She then looked around and asked, "Was that me?!" Hilarious.
We came home and both girls went to sleep relatively easily in anticipation of Santa's arrival. (I must be making that part up.)
Santa indeed arrived. (Look at all that loot!) The girls woke up a little earlier than usual and we rushed to the living room to get the party started. Addie wasn't very happy about it.
The little ladies were really spoiled this year. Lilly scored her coveted Unicorn Dream Lite and Addie was a big fan of her talking Jake toy. They also got a wagon, some clothes and a million other things that I insisted they needed but can no longer remember buying.
We played with lots of new toys and sang Jingle Bells and The 12 Days of Christmas. (Lilly makes up her own lyrics to that one... Three little mice. Two ducks. Five golden rings! One bird over there. And that tree!)
After our annual Christmas Casserole breakfast, we headed to my Dad's house to visit more family. It was a wonderful day. Lilly couldn't stop talking about what a great Christmas it was. (Actually, she continues to reminisce about Christmas 2012 to this day. That was the best Christmas of my whole life, Mommy. Remember how Santa came? Remember our tree? And presents? Ah, yes. The Christmas of her youth.)
I hope you had a great Christmas, too! And don't worry... I'll try to write about our New Year's festivities soon. Definitely before the end of this year.
