3. See dinosaur bones at the museum.
Time to cross another item off the ol' Summer Bucket List! We went to the Natural History Museum when Aaron's parents were in town for Addie's birthday party. Lilly is really into dinosaurs right now. Dinosaur nuggets, Dinosaur Train, dinosaur bones... she loves it all. We have been dying to go. (Well, mostly, I've been pestering Aaron to take us.) So, when we were thinking of fun things to do with the grandparents, I put this on the top of the list. Lil was ecstatic... she couldn't wait to visit the Moo-zeum!
She was such a little explorer... running all over the place and pointing at every new discovery. I loved watching her check everything out.
Aaron and I are constantly amazed by how smart she is becoming. She gets so excited about learning new things and she soaks it all up! If you ask her where she lives, she'll say one of three things: Earth, California or San Bernardino. Impressive, right? Right!

Don't let this picture fool you, Lilly was having a great time. But because she is two (and I think that technically makes her insane) she decided that having her picture taken with this polar bear and her loving family was the equivalent of being murdered. So, as you can see, she wasn't thrilled about it.
Behold! The terrifying T. Rex! One of things we were most excited to see was the dinosaur show complete with live puppets. It was pretty entertaining and Addie only screamed bloody murder once. Don't worry, her cries were drowned out by those of other children fearing for their lives.
Shortly thereafter, Lilly discovered the gift shop... and Grandma and Zadie couldn't say no to those baby browns.
Lilly loved the hall of Gems and Minerals. Ooooh, so many jewels!
| Lilly and The Meteorites. (Excellent band name!) |
Addie was such a trooper, as usual. Every so often she would let out a little bark to remind us that she was still there.
Right around closing time, we discovered this hall... something, something mammal hall. (I'm pretty sure that's its exact name.) We had it all to ourselves, which of course meant Lilly could run around like a wild woman.
| Going back for a second look! |
We had such a nice time. Lilly keeps talking about the moo-zeum and the T. Rex with feathers on his body. (Yup. Feathers.) We weren't able to check out all of the exhibits (Hello Insect Zoo!) so, we'll have to go back soon.

Wow! What a cool day trip. My brother loves dinosaurs...maybe I will take him for his birthday.
