2. Get ice cream from the ice cream man!
After Lilly got her locks cut, we surprised her with a visit to the park for a little fun family time. We just started walking toward the playground when I spotted this dude selling ice cream:
| I would have rather had elote. Mmmm.... warm mayonnaise. |
Lilly was super stoked on just being at the park, so you can imagine how excited she was when we told her to pick out any ice cream she wanted. She settled on the Strawberry Shortcake treat. (Excellent choice, daughter!)
Yeah, I know it isn't as cool as getting ice cream from an ice cream truck, but it's close! Plus, I never ever see ice cream trucks driving around. I'm still on the hunt for the real deal (and when I find it, we're all getting ice cream! Yes!) But just in case we don't see an ice cream truck this summer, this will have to do.
We stayed at the park until the sun went down. Addie is really getting the hang of those swings. (Ba-dum-ch!)
We have a busy week ahead. Aaron's parents are visiting from Tennessee. Tomorrow is the Fourth of July. Addie's birthday party is Saturday. (Holy Cow! She's almost one! Unbelievable!) We also have a trip to the museum on the agenda! Perhaps we'll see some dinosaur bones and cross another item off of our Summer Bucket List!

I love it! We have a truck drive down our street every evening and I have never flagged it down for fear of Liam wanting to do it every day. I will have to let my hair down and indulge one of these summer days!
ReplyDeleteduring my 4th of july party an ice cream trunk drove by blasting the ghostbusters song! and i've never seen it since. but everyone at the party got silent as it passed, then we all busted out laughing. it was awesome.
