| Cut off the sleeves. |

| Cut along the seams so your shirt opens and looks like this. |

| Cut along the collar to remove one side completely. |

That's it! Easy peasy. You might want to trim the bottom of the cape depending on your superhero's height. You wouldn't want them tripping over it while fighting crime, after all.
