A very Ronin Christmas, Pt. I

Merry Christmas, pals! These last few days have been delightful. Christmas was extra special for us this year because it was Addie's first and because it was also the first year that Lilly understood what was happening around her. On the days leading up to Christmas, Lilly and I had a few nice talks about Jesus' birthday and the whole idea of Santa Claus. On Christmas Eve, she kept telling me "Happy, Mama. Happy!" as in Happy birthday. (Did you just die of cute? Sorry about that.) She would also say, "Hoho... presents!" Yeah, she got the gist.

We spent Christmas Eve at our place. Aaron's brother Jared came over to celebrate and we had a huge festive feast. Lilly loves her Uncle Jared. Anytime someone comes over and agrees to play with her, she's game.

Lilly's favorite trampoline.

Where's Lilly? She's so sneaky.

Jared isn't used to hanging out with two-year-olds... especially two-year-olds that love to announce when they make their latest bowel movements. Lilly took care of some bathroom business and then ran to the living room with her panties around her ankles. "She went again?!" Jared said. (And this guy wants to have 20 kids one day. Good luck, pal.)

Lilly has also decided that pants are overrated.

We got on Skype with Aaron's parents so they could watch the girls open all of the presents they sent. It was so sweet.

Hi Zadie! Hi Grandma!

Carrying on with our Christmas traditions, we sang Happy Birthday to Jesus. Lilly loved it.

Despite all the day's excitement, the girls both went down for the night relatively easily... allowing Santa to sneak in and do his thing.

I'll fill you in on the next day's events as soon as I get some more free time. But let me just tell you, our home is pretty much a disaster zone right now. It's not Hoarders bad, but it's getting there. Remember that movie Gremlins? Well, replace the Gremlins with Dora The Explorer and you've pretty much got our current situation.
